Catholic education is one of the Church's most vital ministries. Every day, our schools

partner with parents to form young people in faith, pursue academic excellence, and

help students discover the person God created them to be. This work depends on

dedicated leaders who are committed to strengthening our schools and ensuring they

remain vibrant, mission-driven communities.

Purpose of the Catholic Schools Advisory Councils:

Catholic School Advisory Councils are an expression of the church's commitment to

shared responsibility in the ministry of Catholic education. While the Principal and Pastor

(parish school) or Superintendent (diocesan school) have distinct leadership

responsibilities, they are strengthened by the wisdom, expertise, and faithful counsel of

individuals who share a commitment to the mission of the school.

The Council exists to advise and support the Principal and Pastor (parish school) or

Superintendent {diocesan school) in advancing the school's mission. Through prayerful

discernment, strategic thinking, and responsible stewardship, the Council helps ensure

that the school remains strong in Catholic ldentity, excellent in academics, and

sustainable for future generations.

The Council is advisory in nature. lt does not govern the daily operation of the school,

nor does it exercise administrative authority. Rather, it serves as an advisory body that

offers recommendations, informed perspectives, and strategic guidance to assist

school leadership in making decisions that support the mission and long-term vitality of

the school.

The Role of lhe Cotholic School Advisory Council:

The Council fulfills its responsibility by:

• Strengthening and promoting the school's Catholic ldentity and mission.

• Supporting long range strategic planning and continuous improvement.

• Promoting enrollment growth, community engagement, and school advancement.

• Encouraging meaningful partnerships among the school, parish, parents, and the broader community.

• Providing guidance on the stewardship of school resources, facilities, and long-term sustainability.

• Serving as ambassadors for Catholic education and advocates for the mission of the school.

• Offering professional expertise and thoughtful advice that support informed decision-making.

The Council's work is future focused, mission-centered, and strategic. Rather than

responding to the day-to-day operation of the school, members focus on the

opportunities and challenges that will shape the school's future.
